Toledo police confirm two men were taken to the hospital after a crash on the Anthony Wayne Trail Wednesday morning.
Traffic was down to one lane for part of the morning in the outbound lanes of the Trail at City Park.
Witness accounts say around 9:15 a.m., Donald McMullin was driving an SUV westbound on the Trail and tried to beat the changing light. Aaron Davis was eastbound on the Trail attempting to turn left onto City Park. The impact of the SUV striking the car sent the car off the road and flipped the SUV over onto its roof.
Each vehicle only had the driver inside, but they were both trapped in their vehicles when police arrived. The two men were taken to a local hospital. Officers at the scene say Davis is dealing with life-threatening injuries.
Accident investigators spent the morning mapping the scene, keeping part of the Trail and all of City Park closed.
