Maple Heights man shot helping woman move

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police say a 21-year-old Maple Heights man was shot while helping a female friend move out of her apartment.

The shooting happened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 2500 block of Romig Road.

According to Akron Police Officers, the female's boyfriend showed up at the apartment with a male friend while Willie Brown was in the process of moving her out. There was a physical fight inside the apartment and Brown was shot in the left arm.

Officers say the gunman is the boyfriend's male friend.

The suspect was wearing a red sweat suit and has a tear drop tattoo near his right eye.

Brown was transported to Akron General Medical Center where his injuries are not life threatening.
