Man will spend 23 years in prison for killing girlfriend

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A man convicted of murdering his girlfriend was sentenced to 23 years in prison on Thursday.

Anthony Ealom, 21, shot and killed Johnetta Jackson, 19, on August 19, 2011. Jackson is also the mother of Ealom's son.

Ealom entered her home on Parkview Avenue and shot her once in the head. Jackson died at MetroHealth Hospital. Ealom was arrested the next day.

On January 15, 2013, Ealom, in the midst of trial, informed the court that he wished to enter a guilty plea to one count of voluntary manslaughter with felony murder and firearm specifications, one count of aggravated burglary with firearm specifications, one count of tampering with evidence with firearm specifications, and one count of having weapons while under disability.
