CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The principal at Success Tech High School was allegedly assaulted by a female student.

It happened Thursday afternoon at the school, which is located at 1440 Lakeside.

Cleveland Metropolitan School District Safety Security officers responded to Success Tech.

Officers are questioning the female student alleged to be involved in the incident and are consulting with Cleveland Police Department to determine next steps.

Roseann Canfora, Ph.D. CMSD District Communications Officer, says "We take this, and all safety incidents in our schools, seriously. In this case today, as in any cases where a student poses any threat to the safety of staff or other students, our staff and security officers responded quickly and appropriately to the situation and will enforce the strictest discipline."

"The CEO's recent authorization for an increase in the number of security officers in schools district-wide, is part of our ongoing commitment to school safety and our zero-tolerance for any incident that threatens the safety students or staff in any of our schools."

In October of 2007, Asa Coon went on a shooting rampage at the school.

The 14-year-old boy shot 2 teachers and 2 students before shooting himself in the head.

Coon died, everybody else survived.
