U of A Polsky building given all-clear by police, classes resume Friday

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A University of Akron campus building has been give the "all-clear" by police after reports of a man inside with a weapon.

University Police say the call came in around 5:12 PM, who then notified Akron Police.

According to Akron police, the call was for a report of a white male wearing camouflage and possibly carrying a gun in the Polsky building.

In the latest notice on the  homepage of the university's website, it's states police evacuated and secured the building following a report of a person inside with a weapon. Police conducted a thorough search and did not find anything out of the ordinary.

The building will reopen Friday as usual.

According to the university's website, UA has approximately 28,000 students.
