    The Lorain County Coroner says the body found on Lexington Avenue near 37th Street Friday has been identified as that of 17-year-old Deandre McDowell.

    The Lorain County Coroner continues to investigate the cause of death for a 17-year-old boy.

LODI, OH (WOIO) -

Police arrest a 52-year-old grandpa, after his young grandson is found wandering outside in the area of Prospect and Wooster Streets in Lodi Friday morning.

A woman called police and kept the child safe until officer arrived. The police then took custody of the child and attempted to find where his home was located.

Residents in the area assisted law enforcement by pointing out a possible address in the 400 block of Wooster Street.

It was learned that the mother left her children in the custody of her father while she went to work.

The grandfather of the subject was contacted by law enforcement and was determined to be intoxicated; and that while asleep in the residence the small child exited the home through an unsecured back door.

Michael Whisman was arrested for Child Endangering and transported to the Medina County Jail.

Lodi Police Officers want to say thanks to those concerned citizen that helped in locating the child's home; and especially to the woman that initially saw the child and kept him safe until we arrived.
