CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A young boy riding his bike in Cleveland Friday evening ended up on a windshield after being hit by a car.

It happened at E. 89th and Superior.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the 11 year old boy was riding his bicycle at the time and witnesses tell police, he rode into the street and was struck by an oncoming car being driven by a 20 year old female.

The driver stopped immediately and waited with the boy for EMS and police to arrive.

EMS transported the child to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital to be treated for his injuries, including a possible head injury according to police.  Cops say he was conscious at the time of transport.

The child's condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, the driver has not been cited.
