Wife stabs husband after leaving the bar

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police is currently investigating a stabbing which occurred on February 16, 2013 at approximately 2:30 a.m. on West 89th Street. 

First District officers responded to a call for domestic violence. 

Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle driving in reverse up a driveway, striking a female, pinning her between the house and the car. 

Officers ordered the driver out of the vehicle and noticed he was covered in blood. 

As a safety precaution, officers handcuffed the driver and moved the vehicle, freeing the female. 

Two EMS units responded to the scene to treat both parties. 

An early investigation reveals that the married couple got into an argument after returning home from a bar.

The male victim is identified as Nicholas Taylor, 27 and his wife was identified as Samantha Yonts, 26.

Taylor reports that his wife began slapping and punching him inside the vehicle on their way home from the bar and that she started smashing things inside the vehicle, including the windshield.

The report of the incident says that upon arriving home, Yont's locked her husband out of the house and after opening the door, she began slapping and punching him again.

Taylor says that when he tried to leave in the vehicle and she followed, stabbing him several times in his arm and leg. 

Taylor says that he tried to drive away and that's the police arrived so he reversed the car and accidentally struck his wife. 

Yonts refused medical treatment and was placed under arrest for felonious assault for domestic violence. 

Taylor was treated and released at MetroHealth Medical Center.
