Alleged thief busted by footprints in the snow

Police arrest a suspected thief, by following his footprints in the snow.

Akron Police Officers were called to a car break-in in the 200 block of Dennison Avenue Saturday evening.

When officers arrived, they saw footprints in the snow and followed them. Officers found Jay Nagy, 37, in the 3000 block of Forest Park Boulevard, as he was going through a cup holder inside a car, that was not his.

Police say Nagy had a loaded .380 handgun in his waistband, along with items taken from several cars in the area.

The Akron man was charged with felony theft, receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, weapons under disability, identity fraud, misrepresenting identity, possession of criminal tools and criminal mischief.

Nagy is now locked up in the Summit County jail.
