AKRON, OH (WOIO) -
Jury selection begins today in the trial for Richard Beasley, the accused mastermind in the Craigslist killings.
Lawyers will pick a jury from a pool of 260 people, the process is expected to take about a week.
Beasley's teen accomplice, Brogan Rafferty is already serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for his role in the plot that killed three men and wounded another.
During the trial, Rafferty is expected to testify against Beasley.
Rafferty told jurors during his trial that he didn't go to police because "he had seen Beasley kill, and felt he'd be next" but jurors felt otherwise. He was found guilty last October.
Authorities say Rafferty and Beasley lured several men to remote locations 2011 using a Craigslist ad that promised work.
Timothy Kern, 47 of Massillon, Ralph Geiger, 56 of Akron and David Pauley, 51 of West Virginia were all killed. Scott Davis was lured to a remote location and shot in the arm, but survived breaking the case open.
Beasley faces the death penalty.
