Chardon Shooting: Events commemorating 1-year anniversary underway

    Admitted Chardon shooter TJ Lane changed his plea to guilty during a hearing this morning.
    Admitted Chardon shooter TJ Lane changed his plea to guilty during a hearing Tuesday morning. 

    Lane entered a guilty plea to all six counts - three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of felonious assault all with firearms specifications.
CHARDON, OH (WOIO) -

Plans for the special memorial marking the first anniversary of the Chardon High School shootings were announced earlier this month, and the first event took place Tuesday night. 

The schedule of events to remember the victims of that tragic day are listed below.

Tuesday, February 26:

Chardon High School Commemorative Choir/Band Concert at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Church, North Street/

Wednesday, February 27:

7:30 a.m. - "Day of Service" begins at Chardon High School

12:20 p.m. - Students, staff and first-responders begin Memorial Walk to Chardon Square

12:35 p.m. - "Gathering for Remembrance and Renewal" on Chardon Square

12:55 p.m. - Return walk to Chardon High School for dismissal

6:30 p.m. - Candle Light Vigil on Chardon Square, hosted by the City of Chardon

7 p.m. - The Chardon United Methodist Church praise band will perform "praise music and uplifting songs" in Park Auditorium.

7:30 p.m. - Chardon Youth Ministry Group Crave 631 - Release of Lanterns on High School grounds

Special Note: For those attending Wednesday's events on Chardon Square parking is available at the Burr Funeral Home.

Burr Funeral Home is located at 116 South Street.
