CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News is uncovering more reports of fake cops on the prowl across northeast Ohio.

In the past six months there have been several reports of fake cops in Cleveland alone.

In one case a woman says a black car with a bubble light pulled her over and a man made her get out. According to the police report, he groped and sexually assaulted her with a gun.

Then last month a Cleveland man said a neighbor pulled up flashing his headlights and pointed a gun. He also said he was a cop.

And back in October a woman said two guys pulled her over.  The victim says their car said police but she said it didn't feel right, started to drive off and that's when one man fired a shot into her back window.

In another case a man told police he was robbed by a guy at the Greyhound Bus Station. The victim says the suspect claimed to be a cop.

Another man said someone called him claiming to be a detective and making threats.

Another woman said a fake cop stopped her two weeks ago at 55th and Broadway but let her go.

And we've learned last fall a Cleveland woman claimed she was sexually assaulted by a man in a Crown Victoria.

These fake cops cases are being reported on the east, west sides and downtown.

Remember if you have doubts about someone claiming to be an officer call 911
