STONELICK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

The ashes of her deceased husband have been returned to a Clermont County widow.

Back in January, a suspect kicked in the front door of a 71-year-old widow in Stonelick Township.

The thief took several items, including the ashes of the her deceased husband.

The victim told police the ashes were in a decorated wooden box that sat on a dresser in her bedroom. Police believe the crooks mistakenly assumed the box contained items of monetary value.

A month went by and some good news came.

According to the Clermont County Sheriff's Officer, the ashes have been recovered in Northern Kentucky and returned to the window.

No one has been arrested yet and the investigation will continue.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
