Cops say Alliance man tried to blow up his wife on Valentine's Day

ALLIANCE, OH (WOIO) -

Alliance Police have arrested 32-year old David A. "Turtle" McCoy.

The W. Broadway Street man is charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated arson and one count of illegal manufacturing or processing explosives.

Cops say McCoy constructed the device and attached it to the vehicle, targeting his estranged wife, and the male owner of the vehicle.

McCoy was arrested at his residence at 5:15 p.m. Thursday without incident.

He is being held in the Stark County Jail on $500,000 bond.

He will be arraigned in Alliance Municipal Court on Friday morning.
