Court date for man accused to trying to kill wife on Valentine's Day

ALLIANCE, OH (WOIO) -

The Alliance man accused of trying to kill his estranged wife on Valentine's Day with a homemade bomb was in court this afternoon.

Police say David "Turtle" McCoy constructed the device and attached it to the vehicle, targeting his estranged wife and the male owner of the vehicle. Another man saw it and called police.

McCoy, 32, is charged with attempted murder and arson.  He did not enter a plea in court Friday.  He remains behind bars preparing for his next court hearing next week

If found guilty he could face 30 years in prison.
