CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A jury finds a veteran 9-1-1 dispatcher and former police officer not guilty of rape and kidnapping charges on Friday.

Ralph Hughes had been accused of attacking a former girlfriend and her teenage daughter. The charges dated back to 2005.

Hughes is a former police officer at the Tri-C Metro campus and in North Olmsted.

At the time of his arrest last summer, Hughes was a Cuyahoga County dispatcher.

The jury was hung on the charge of gross sexual imposition. Hughes will be re-tried on that charge, but there is no date scheduled.

Hughes remains out on bond.
