PARMA HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

A Cuyahoga County jail guard has been arrested, and police say she had 26 pounds of pot at her apartment.

Parma Heights Police say a maintenance man noticed a strange smell while working in a unit that was rented by the jail guard at the Big Creek Apartments.

When officers arrived they tell 19 Action News that investigators located marijuana in a dryer.

Police have arrested Jennifer McGinnis, and she has been charged with drug trafficking.

Records show McGinnis also lists an address at a home on Bellaire in Cleveland.

19 Action News tried knocking on doors at both locations, there was no answer at the apartment, and a woman at the house refused to open the door.

Parma Heights Police are now turning this into a much bigger investigation, 26 pounds is more than a normal personal stash.
