19 Action News has discovered a shocking new way to protect yourself from predators and it's only as big as your cell phone.

Reporter Danielle Serino shows you how your smart phone is smart protection.

The instant Seth Froom was robbed at gunpoint at the front door of his house, an idea was hatched.

"I thought about the moment of exchange when he demanded I hand him my cell phone," said Seth Froom.

As he stared trauma in the face -- forced to hand over his cell phone and valuables, he felt compelled to find a way to turn the tables. If only there was a logical, unsuspecting counterattack.

Painful, debilitating electric shock stun gun technology gave him the answer, by combining it with the one thing always at hand, his smart phone.

"The only item within arms reach is your smart phone for a true emergency designed to protect you," said Froom.

There was already a fake cell phone stun gun on the market selling for $74.67 but it lacked the practicality, protection combination.

At the LSU student incubator, Seth and his business partner Sean Simone brainstormed to make a cell phone case, which most people have anyway, but with the protection built in.

"Without the LSU student incubator this would not be alive now," said Sean Simone.

The LSU business enterprise assisted them in winning essential seed money to craft their invention and gave them a nurturing place to do it.

Sean says, their yellowjacketcase is a prime example of what's known as disruptive technology.

"When you take two things not related before and mash them together normal now, element on it, education to the market," explained Sean Simone.

The market will be educated, but the only way to see if it really works would obviously be to try it out.

"Tell me when you're ready cameraman," said Sean Simone.

"Let's go," yelled the cameraman. "I feel that!"

Besides the burning sting, the cameraman said he would do just what you'd want an assailant to do, and that's retreat!
