Police testing drivers involved in accident for alcohol use

CLEVELAND, OH -

Cleveland Police were called to a 2-car accident around 10:20 p.m. Monday night near E. 105th and Chester Avenue.

Police say a 61-year-old female driving northbound on E. 105th collided with a 40-year-old man driving eastbound on Chester Avenue. 

The male driver fled the scene but was located a short time later by Cleveland Clinic Police and CPD.  A field sobriety test was conducted.

According to police, the test did not confirm proof of impairment and did not provide probable cause for OVI arrest, they confirmed his identity and he was released from the scene pending further investigation.

The female driver and her male passenger were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center by EMS where they were treated and released. The female driver was tested for alcohol use, results are still pending.

This matter will be further investigated. There is no further information available at this time.
