One killed, another hurt in Carroll County drilling accident

CARROLLTON, OH (WOIO) -

The Carroll County Sheriff says one man was killed and another injured in a drilling accident.

It happened around 4 p.m. Monday at a gas drilling rig at R.E. Gas Development.

The men were working up in the main facility and using tongs to clamp a pipe when a piece of equipment hit 28-year-old Abdel Audeh, killing him.

The second victim, 20-year-old Alex Cox, suffered a head injury, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The accident remains under investigation.
