MENTOR, OH (WOIO) -

Mentor Police have made an arrest in connection with a bomb threat at Ridge Middle School made last week.

An investigation between the Mentor Police Department and Mentor School officials led to the arrest of a 13-year-old student.

That teen has been charge with inducing panic, a second degree felony.

The charge is based on the student writing the threat and causing the school to be evacuated.

When the threat was discovered, students were transferred by bus to nearby Brentmoor Elementary school. Members of the police department, fire department, and school staff checked the building.

An explosives detection K9 from the Geauga County Sheriff's Department was also called in.
