
Indians lose to Seattle, 5-1The Indians lost for the second straight day in Cactus League play on Wednesday, losing 5-1 to Seattle.
Catcher Yan Gomes went 2-for-2 with a double for the Tribe. Gomes has hit safely in each of his last four plate appearances (single, 2 doubles, HR) to raise his spring average to .571 with 5 RBI's, one shy of the team lead.
Jesus Aguilar drove in the Indians lone run with an eighth-inning sacrifice fly.
On the mound, starter Brett Myers became the first Cleveland pitcher to work three innings this spring, holding Seattle to a single run (3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 0 SO, 1 HR).
Relievers Rich Hill, Cody Allen, Nick Hagadone and Matt Langwell each chipped an inning of scoreless ball.
Carlos Peguero did most of the damage for the Mariners, going 2-for-4 with two homers.
The Indians will face the Texas Rangers on Thursday at 3:05. Zach McAllister will start for the Tribe, while Derek Holland will go for the Rangers.
