
Athens, OH (WOIO) - The streak is alive and well for the Akron Zips, but Wednesday night's showdown with the Ohio Bobcats was anything but easy. The Zips trailed by as many as 18 in the first half, before rallying in the second half, and pulling away in overtime, for an 88-81 win, their 19th straight.
Freshman Jake Kretzer saved the day for the Zips, burying five 3-pt'ers, and throwing down 19 points overall, as the Zips stormed back.
Demetrius Treadwell led Akron with 21 points.
Bobcats guard D.J. Cooper led all scorers with 26 points.
