CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

41-years to life in prison for the teen who beat a South Euclid woman to death in her own driveway.

On July 14, 2012, Jeffrey Rembert, Jr., 17, struck Jacqueline Gavorski, 65, over the head multiple times with a piece of concrete, causing her death.

Gavorski was returning home when she was approached by Rembert in her driveway. Gavorski was unloading her car after having been out shopping at various stores.

At approximately 6 a.m. on July 14, a witness was driving past the victim's residence when he noticed both doors of a vehicle had been opened. After further observation he noticed the victim's body lying between two cars which were parked in the driveway.

EMS was immediately called. Gavorski was pronounced dead at the scene and it was later discovered that her purse had been stolen.

Rembert was arrested a short time later. Police found the crime was a random act, and Rembert and Gavorski did not know each other.

Rembert pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. He did not face the death penalty due to his age at the time of the crime.
