NEW DETAILS: Child brings bullet to Cleveland charter school

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek learned more about an incident this week at a Cleveland charter school involving a child with a bullet.

A police report has now been filed, and it shows an 8-year-old brought a bullet to school. He's also accused of telling another student his dad was going to shoot up the school. It happened Monday at the Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy on Shaker Boulevard.

The boy later told police the bullet was his dad's, and he'd found it on the floor. He denied saying anything about anyone shooting up the school, and no gun was found at the school.

The student reporting this wrote a note to a teacher. The school then called police.

A woman speaking for the school at the time refused to answer questions and simply said, "everything's fine."

The boy was released to his mother and Social Workers were called.
