Simply Delicious Pies has a storefront on Lee Road just south of Shaker Boulevard, but in this day and age it helps to have a little more. That's why sisters, shop owners, Beth Kaboth and Brittany Reeves were quick to sign up with the Shop Shaker app. The app, developed by the Shaker Hts. Economic Development office was designed to get people into local shops and restaurants.
"It's a great idea. I just think you get better quality, there's definitely more heart that goes into a small business, it's really a big philosophy in our business, in general, we like to find local ingredients and locally sourced things," said Reeves.
The Shop Shaker app can be added to your smart phone from www.shop-shaker.com There are more than a dozen categories to choose from and some offer app only discounts.
Simply Delicious Pies has only been in business since late September and the owners say they are off to a great start. Any business owner, however, will tell you that staying in business is all about growth, and that's where they believe the app can really help.
"Because the community does like to shop local, to be able to push that initiative is really excellent for a new business," said Kaboth.
