CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News has learned a woman accused of killing her child now appears to be a victim of a scam that could have affected her case.

Last week we revealed court filings with a request from Camilia Terry for a psych exam, a request filed by her and not her attorneys.

Now we've learned the filings were typed up and signed by an inmate at a state prison posing as Camilia Terry.

Attorney Richard Drucker says Terry does not know the man. He had written to Terry a few times, and he filed the court papers without her knowledge. He then wrote to her later to tell her he had done it, even asking her not to reveal his name.

Terry first found out about the request for a psych exam from watching the news. Then she alerted her attorneys she didn't know anything about it.

Judge Janet Burnside is already taking steps to prevent the man from interfering with the case anymore.

Defense attorneys are still reviewing records, and deciding on their strategy. Cleveland Police say Terry killed her toddler son, and then threw him in the trash.
