PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -
A Kent State University student is accused of raping two 14-year-old girls during a slumber party, he was supposed to be chaperoning.
Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak says Benjamin Schwartz, 19, was arrested Friday.
Deputies say the slumber party was on Feb. 16, 2013 at a home on Kimberly Drive. The first victim was allegedly attacked that afternoon. The second victim was attacked in the early morning hours on Feb. 17, after Schwartz was allegedly able to separate her from the other juveniles.
Portage County Sheriff Deputies began their investigation on Feb. 17.
Schwartz has been charged with rape, a felony of the 1st degree and importuning, a felony of the 5th degree.
Schwartz is currently being held at the Portage County Jail with no bond. Schwartz will be arraigned on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 1:15 PM at the Ravenna Courthouse.
This investigation will be presented to the Portage County Grand Jury for consideration of additional charges.
