
Ohio State moves up in polls, while Akron fallsIn the latest Top 25 basketball polls, the Ohio State Buckeyes moved up two spots to 14th in the Top 25 AP Poll after defeating Northwestern on Thursday. The Buckeyes also moved up two spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll to 13th.
Meanwhile, after losing to Buffalo on Saturday, the Akron Zips fell out of the USA Today Top 25 poll to 36th. The Zips are also ranked 36th in the AP Top 25 poll.
Last week, for the first time in school history, Akron was voted 24th in the USA Today Poll.
The Zips will host Miami (OH) on Tuesday, while the Buckeyes travel to Indiana to play the Hoosiers.
The new number one team in the country in both polls this week is Gonzaga. The Bulldogs are ranked in the top spot for the first time in school history.
The rest of the top five in the AP Poll is Indiana, Duke, Kansas and Georgetown. In the USA Today Poll, Indiana is number two followed by Kansas, Duke and Georgetown.
