CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

One man is now facing dozens of charges for a cockfighting bust.  Cleveland Police say Jose Pena owns the home raided last weekend.

Police found crowds gambling on roosters, forced to fight to the death.

Last Saturday only 19 Action News rolling on Cleveland's near west side as a home was raided for a suspected cockfighting ring.

Dozens of birds and dozens of people found inside, even a ring for the fighting.

Now Pena facing charges for cruelty to animals and illegal fights between animals.

As for 37 other people in the home, the city prosecutor will decide later on charges for them.

The Cleveland dog warden is caring for the birds.

He's still waiting for a judge or prosecutor to tell him what should happen next with the animals.

But he's already had interest from a couple of places willing to take those birds.
