STOW, OH (WOIO) -
The Stow Police Department is adding a third K-9 Unit.
Officer Erik Dirker and his K-9 partner, Spectrum, will be attending training in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The training will start on March 18 and will conclude on April 6.
Once trained, Spectrum will be a full service K-9 who will be certified in drug detection, suspect apprehension and tracking.
The addition of Officer Dirker and Spectrum will allow the Stow Police Department to have a K-9 Unit on each of the three patrol shifts.
