EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

East Cleveland Police would like to talk to two men in connection with a violent home invasion that took place earlier this week.

Turan " Tap" Baisden and Deleonte Butler AKA "ROCK" are both wanted for questioning in the attack that happened Tuesday, March 5th around 6:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of Hampton Road.

Police say several suspects forced their way into Jason Smith's home. Smith was able to distract the intruders long enough to allow his family to flee before any harm came to them.

Unfortunately, he was not able to avoid their brutality.

After being stabbed and shot, Smith was rushed to University Hospital and later life flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Smith underwent surgery Wednesday morning, and is currently listed in critical condition.

East Cleveland Police would like to ask anyone with information to please contact the Detective Bureau at 216-451-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
