Cleveland (WOIO) - Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers all-star point guard, is out...again...but this time it's not the knee. Irving is suffering from flu-like symptoms, and has been ruled doubtful for Friday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
This comes on the heels of a mini-storm that swirled on Thursday, after Irving mentioned that his right knee, which he hyperextended a couple of weeks ago, is still sore. Cavs head coach Byron Scott, suprised by Irving's admission, mentioned he might consider shutting Kyrie down if the pain persists.
But by Thursday night, Cavs officials had made it clear that the knee wasn't going to keep Kyrie out. Unfortunately, they didn't count on the flu.
