TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Authorities are investigating a double shooting and a fire overnight Saturday near west Sylvania Avenue.
Around midnight, firefighters were called to the scene of a car fire on Vermaas Avenue.
While fighting the blaze, residents in the neighborhood told fire crews someone was shot in the basement of a house across the street, according to the battalion chief.
Police found two people with gunshot wounds in the home.
No details on the victims' names or conditions have been released at this time.
Fire investigators say they are not certain if the vehicle fire and the shooting are related.
Officials have described the fire as "suspicious."
