McAllister wins a job

Posted: Updated:

Zach McAllister was told on Sunday he'd made the big league team. McAllister will break camp as the Indians fourth starter after appearing in four games this spring. The right hander has thrown 11 innings allowing 11 hits, five runs and two walks. He has struck out seven.

McAllister was 6-8 with a 4.24 ERA last year in 22 starts. He was a front runner to win one of the two open spots in the team's rotation this year, but was not going to be handed the job. The club wanted him to earn it.
