New arguments to execute serial killer Anthony Sowell

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

We've uncovered new arguments in the push for the State to execute serial killer Anthony Sowell.

Sowell sits on death row for killing 11 women and attacking others.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutors just filed 161 pages with the state supreme court in response to Sowell's appeal. He has argued he didn't get a fair trial, he should be allowed to live in prison, and much more.

Prosecutors argue Sowell is the worst offender in the history of the county, maybe even the state. He shouldn't be allowed to just live out his life in prison.  The argument: the only reason he's been a good inmate is there are no woman around to attack.

Additionally, prosecutors write there's no proof any jurors were biased, and there's no proof backing up claims that Sowell suffers from severe medical or mental health conditions.

Still, the execution of Sowell could be a long way off. In fact, he has another appeal still pending in county court.
