
Indians, Angels play to scoreless tie in GoodyearThe Indians and Angels played to a nine-inning scoreless tie on Monday at Goodyear Ballpark.
The Tribe's pitching staff held Los Angeles to just six hits, five of which were singles. Lefty Scott Kazmir struck out four batters during four shutout innings against his former team, surrendering just one walk and three singles. He has now tossed eight scoreless innings in three Cactus League starts.
Daisuke Matsuzaka left the game before the he could pitch his second inning of work because of a cramp in his right calf. Matsuzaka and Kazmir are battling for the fifth and final spot in the Indians rotation.
Michael Bourn was the only Indian to have two hits. The two clubs combined to go 0-for-20 with runners in scoring position.
The Indians will have the day off on Tuesday before heading to Camelback Ranch in Glendale on Wednesday to take on the Chicago White Sox at 4:05 P.M. Ubaldo Jimenez will start for the Tribe.
