Girl shot by father released from hospital

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A 12-year-old girl shot by her father on the city's west side has been released from the hospital.

The shooting happened March 4 in the 2000 block of West 104th Street.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a 46-year-old man, Robert Arnold, shot his 12-year-old daughter in the chest then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

Arnold's daughter was at the home for a weekend visit.

The motive for the crime is unknown.
