Report: Browns one of two teams interested in Fred DavisAccording to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it's down to the Browns and Redskins for the services of tight end Fred Davis.
Davis is coming off an Achilles tendon tear he suffered in week seven last season while playing for Washington. Before getting hurt, Davis caught 25 passes for 325 yards.
In 2011, Davis had a career year for Washington. He had 59 receptions for 796 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The five-year veteran has played his entire career for the Redskins.
Davis does come with some baggage. In 2011, he was suspended four games for failing a drug test. He also was sued by a woman who claims the player threw juice on her at a bar.
Davis is a native of Toledo and attended Rogers High School.
