STRONGSVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

The strike drags on but the dedication of those supporting the teachers remain strong.

Hundreds of students joined Strongsville striking teachers on the front lines Thursday night to try to bring an end to the 11 day strike.

More than 200 people came out to make sure their voices were heard.

"I'm not going to pretend like I know much about it. All I know is I just want my teachers back," said Taylor Leonard, SHS Junior.

In the crowd was Vince Ketterer, a parent who has children in Strongsville schools and supports the striking teachers.

"I think they have been demonized in some ways. I feel like people have been devaluing education. People that are out here are dedicated people. Dedicated to our kids. They're dedicated to our community," said Vince Ketterer.

Some students say the chaos in the classroom is not as bad as Day One of the strike since more replacement teachers are in place.

"I think the teachers are digging themselves in a hole every day because the school is running smoother and smoother every day. Everyday that they're gone," said Jenna Jordan, SHS Junior.

But parent Vince Ketterer says the replacements just aren't good enough.

"You can't replace the teachers. You can't. You can't replace the passion and the dedication that they have with warn bodies in the classroom," said Ketterer.

Spring break is just over a week away. No one gathered thought this dispute will be resolved before then.
