Kent State defeated Fairfield 72-68 in 2011 behind 22 points from Randal Holt during the second round of the NIT in Bridgeport, Conn.

The Golden Flashes are 4-1 all-time vs. Fairfield with their other wins coming in 1984, 1993 and 1994. The Stags beat the Flashes in 1972 on a neutral site in Buffalo, N.Y.
