Icy conditions made for a treacherous Monday morning commute throughout the area. 

There was a 20 car pile-up at Snow and Engle Roads in Brook Park just before 9 a.m. due to ice.

"The car in front of me started sliding, I was sliding behind it," said Nedra Hawkins. "It turned around 360 degrees, it came from west bound, but it couldn't stop at all."

"It's a very traumatic experience, it is something you see on TV, but to see it in real life, it's scary, very traumatic," Hawkins added.

Police tell 19 Action News an estimated 25 vehicles were involved in another chain reaction pile-up on the Jennings Freeway Southbound to Brookpark Road, as the bridge completely froze.

The BP on Brookpark was being used as a staging area for the demolished cars.

Police said bridges and overpasses were extremely icy, and encouraged drivers to take it slow.
