Runway re-opened at Cuyahoga County Airport

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

At 8:19 a.m. Monday morning at the Cuyahoga County Airport, a Lear Jet slid off of the end of one of the airport runways.

None of the passengers involved in the incident were injured.

The cause of this incident was deemed that the pilot missed his landing area by 1500 ft. as a result of traveling at a high speed.

The plane has been removed from the grass area at the end of the runway.

Two similar types of aircraft landed just prior to this plane and neither had any issues landing.

The runway re-opened at 2:00 p.m. Monday.
