CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

According to league sources Josh Cribbs passed his physical with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday. The team was concerned though about his status, and will not sign him right now. They will revisit the subject.

Cribbs had his knee scoped after the season and is still five weeks away from being 100%. The Cardinals team doctor decided to pass Cribbs on the physical, but recommended to the team they wait until he's 100% before they sign him. Another team could jump in and sign him, but Arizona is still the front runner. Cribbs likes the situation there and is comfortable with the team.

The three-time Pro Bowler was linked to the Cardinals last week, and a deal was thought to be close.

Cribbs, who originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Kent State, is tied for the all-time lead in NFL history with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns. He also is the Browns' all-time leader in punt return yardage with 2,154.

Cribbs said his goodbye to Cleveland Browns fans on social media last week.  On Instagram, he posted a picture with this caption:

"I proved I would die for this...

"That I would give 110% every game.

"That the community was just as important as the field.

"So if it's my time to go, at least it's in good hands.''
