VICTIM IDENTIFIED: Man fatally shot in west side home invasion

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A 25-year-old Cleveland man was fatally shot in a west side home invasion.

Police were called to a home in the 4400 block of W.49th Street around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for a man shot.

The preliminary investigation reveals that four men armed with guns and wearing masks entered the house. Once inside, the suspects asked the victim, identified as Antoin Sheffield, where the money was and searched the home. During the search, Sheffield was shot in the chest.

After shooting Sheffield, the suspects fled the scene. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

Sheffield was rushed to Metro, where he died.

There were four adults and five children in the home during the deadly invasion, but no one else was injured.
