Walk down the hallowed halls of the world famous Firestone Country Club and you see the greats who have played here over the decades.

"The Ronald McDonald House in both Cleveland and Akron do such great work in the area," said Don Padgett with the Bridgestone Invitational.

But it is what the Bridgestone Invitational does on a yearly basis that touches the lives of sick children and their families.  Each of the local Ronald McDonald houses will receive $50,000 from the 2013 World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational.

"They help out hospitalized kids, help them get back to a normal life, helps put a face to the charitable dollars that go back to Northeast Ohio.  We're delighted to partner with them."

19 Action News is a co-sponsor for the tournament that airs on CBS 19.

This is 28th year for Akron's Ronald McDonald House.  They are working to raise $10 million so they can add 50-60 rooms.

It truly is the house that love built.  Last year they helped more then 14,000 people.  The sad news is they had to turn down more than 3,200 people.

"There's things you get used to and there's things have to do but that's one thing is never easy cause it's just tough.  You just have to say we don't have a room," said Anne Collins with the Ronald McDonald House

"We have a 20-room facility. At this stage of our house we're always full with a waiting list and we serve primarily Akron Children Hospital," she added.

Despite all that they work miracles for the sick kids and their families by providing a home away from home.
