ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -
Two men from Michigan are facing drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 724 Oxycodone pills, worth approximately $22,000, during a traffic stop on the turnpike.
Troopers stopped a 2007 Chevy Impala with Alabama registration for a marked lanes violation in Lorain County at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the 724 Oxycodone pills, along with marijuana roaches and residue.
The driver, McClearry D. Hill, 27, and passenger, Thomas G. Johnson-Hardwick, 24, were arrested and charged with possession of a scheduled II substance, aggravated drug trafficking and possession of marijuana.
If convicted, each could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
