Stranger danger incident reported by Deveaux Elementary student

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Another stranger danger incident has been reported in west Toledo.

Patty Mazur, with Toledo Public Schools, says between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Wednesday, a boy in the eighth grade at Deveaux Elementary said he was enticed by a person to get in a car.

He described the car as a white Chevrolet Suburban, last seen driving westbound on Sylvania Avenue.

Around 1 p.m., parents who have students in TPS schools in the Start High School Learning District got reverse calls telling them of the incident. The school system is also sending letters home with all students in the same learning district.

Toledo Police Sgt. Joe Heffernan says no report of the incident has made its way to police command.

Multiple stranger danger incidents have been reported in the area within the past two months. A similar incident was reported Thursday at the intersection of Bennett Road and California Boulevard, about three miles away.
