SOLON, OH (WOIO) -

The Solon Police Department is releasing the names of the officers involved in a March 17 shooting incident where they were shot at by Kevin Bailey. Bailey was then shot and killed by the officers.

Patrolman Steven Davis was hired April of 2008 and was struck in the arm and ballistic vest by gunshots from Bailey. He is a current member of the South East Area Law Enforcement SWAT team. He underwent additional surgery last week to remove glass fragments from his hand and remains home recovering while on leave.

Patrolman Nicholas Kline had several shots strike his patrol vehicle as well. He was hired in November of 2009 and is a current member of the Valley Enforcement Group SWAT Perimeter team. The gun used by Bailey was a semi-automatic pistol.

The specifics of the incident are being investigated by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation who remains the lead contact agency for information.

According to Police Chief Christopher Viland, "We continue to cooperate closely with BCI and as we receive authorization to release information we will do that as quickly as possible. We certainly want to tell the story of the courage and professionalism of our employees without complicating or compromising the continuing investigation".
