BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A $4 million pool and water park is almost ready to make its splash in Bowling Green, but cold weather hasn't made completing the project easy.

The weather has been anything but helpful during the construction of the city's new aquatic complex, but contractors worked hard to make up for lost time.

"We had an extra cold winter, and we've just been waiting for warm weather," said Parks and Recreation Director Michelle Grigore. "Today's 48 [degrees], and we have about four days above freezing, and that's why they're pouring concrete now. They need that time for concrete to cure without freezing weather."

The new center will have multiple pools, a lazy river, water slides, and a new bath house. The hope is that the new center will be ready for its grand opening on June 1.
